I love painting

I love the fact that it is always a process of finding what works, and I love the fact that if it works, it’s doubly satisfying.
I love
- how I carve the bounce lights on to the form
- the contrast it has going from warm to cool tones
- carving the edge of the form from being a line to a value and hue change to denote end of the form, much like a cylinder (removal of lines)
- carving the ambient occlusion more (removal of lines and turning more to triangles)
- painting the gradual turn of the form with its hue and value change
- seeing the terminator line come in harmony with the tones by saturating it
- painting the center light with a big airbrush
More stuff not on this study:
- between the terminator line and the bounce light of the form should where the darkest shadow lies while maintaining lighter value than the ambient occlusion (AO is always your darkest value)
Possible adjustments
- The terminator line done in the design phase should not look the darkest, it should be the center of the form (excluding AO)
